Jyotika Dayal Paust was born in Benares, India. An accomplished artist, she has completed her "Post Diploma" in the field of Hindustani Classical vocal music under the able guidance of Lt. Pandit Amarnath and Lt. Smt. Shanti Sharma at the "Shri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra" New Delhi. She has also learnt under the guidance of Ust. Mashkoor Ai Khan and Ust. Akhtar Nawaz from Kirana Gharana.
She was a recipient of the Senior Scholarship from the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India from 1995-1998. At the age of eighteen years, Jyotika Dayal began her training in Kathak-dance under Smt. Reba Vidyarthi, a well-known dancer of the "Lucknow Gharana". Under the guidance of Smt. Vaswati Mishra, also a well known dancer and choreographer, Jyotika Dayal made her second "Post Diploma" at the Kathak Kendra, New Delhi. She has been a Classical Vocal guru at the prestigious Shri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra from 2010 to 2016.
Jyotika Dayal has been performing successfully for the past more than 25 years in India and abroad, in festivals and concerts both as classical vocalist and a kathak dancer. Also, her rendition of Ghazals and Bhajans embellished with alap and taans, got her rave reviews from audiences.
Since 1998 she is a member of the MUSIC ENSEMBLE OF BENARES, where she has an important part not only as a singer and Kathak-dancer, but also as a composer and choreographer. Another project in which she shows her multidiscipline talents is the Kathak Flamenco Project, a fusion between Indian and Spanish music and dance. She has also been giving various workshops for Classical Vocal and Dance across Europe.
Jyotika Dayal is also a certified Yoga Teacher , trained under Swami Vidhyanand from Sri Ma International School of Transformational Yoga , Auroville . Besides being a teacher of Kathak dance and Hindustani Classical vocal music, she is also giving Yoga lessons in Germany, online and in various institutions
